Allegations of domestic violence must be vigorously contested from the onset of your case.

Here's what you need to understand about allegations of domestic violence here in Western Washington.  If the police are called out to your residence, someone is going to get arrested, even both of the parties are partially at fault.  In most instances, the person arrested is the man, regardless of what actually happened.

You also need to understand that once the police have been called, the decision about whether or not to file and press charges no longer resides with the alleged victim.  The prosecuting attorney will make this decision and even if the alleged victim does not want the matter pursued, their desire to have the charges dropped will be ignored.
