It is a gross misdemeanor and is punishable by up to year in jail and a $5,000 fine.  It is also a major hit to your driving record and counts against you as one point under Washington's "Habitual Traffic" Offender laws.  If you get three hits in any five-year period, you are subject to a mandatory seven-year license revocation.
